Discussion

Variety inerme is rare to infrequent at scattered sites in Coast and Transverse ranges of California in Contra Costa, Kern, Lake, Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara, Tulare, and Ventura counties. The Idaho population (near New Centerville, Boise County) is a recent introduction, probably having come from California with mining equipment.
