Flowers: calyx lobes ovate, 4.5–6.5 × 2.5–4 mm; corolla 22–24 mm, ± glandular-pubescent externally.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Creosote shrublands.
Elevation: 900–1900 m.

Discussion

Variety amargosae is known from Inyo and San Bernardino counties, California, and Nye County, Nevada. The glandular hairs of the corollas can be sparse; they usually are easy to see on flower buds.
