Rosettes 1.5–3 × 1.5–4 dm. Leaves 12–30 × 1–3 cm; blade linear-lanceolate; marginal teeth 2–12(–15) mm, 1–2.5 cm apart; apical spine slender or stout, acicular, 2–20 cm. Scape 1.7–4 m. Inflorescences spicate, racemose or narrowly paniculate; longer lateral branches 0.5–5 cm. Flowers 2–8 per cluster, 2.3–3.2 cm; ovary 1.2–2.2 cm.
