Shrubs, prostrate, erect, or mound-forming, 0.5–2 m; burl present or absent; twigs sparsely to moderately short-hairy. Leaves: petiole 5–10 mm; blade bright green or gray-glaucous, usually shiny, sometimes dull, oblong-ovate to wide-elliptic, 2.5–5 × 1.5–2.5 cm, base obtuse to truncate, margins entire, plane, surfaces smooth, glabrous or sparsely puberulent. Inflorescences panicles, 3–5-branched; immature inflorescence pendent, branches spreading, axis 0.5–1.5 cm, 1+ mm diam., sparsely to moderately short-hairy; bracts ± appressed, scalelike, deltate to wide-ovate, 2–4 mm, apex mucronate, surfaces glabrous. Pedicels 4–9 mm, glabrous. Flowers: corolla white, conic to urceolate; ovary glabrous. Fruits globose, 7–10 mm diam., glabrous. Stones connate into single sphere.
