Cauline leaves loosely arranged, blade narrowly linear. Fruit valves: trichomes sessile.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Sandy and gravelly soil, stream banks, base of granitic cliffs, sagebrush and grassy slopes, pine woods
Elevation: 100-1400 m

Discussion

Subspecies douglasii appears to be restricted mainly to river valleys.
