Varieties 2 (1 in the flora): introduced, Florida; s, se Asia, Pacific Islands (Hawaii, Philippines).

A. J. Scott (1978c) assigned escaped Florida populations to var. tomentosa from southeast Asia to the Philippines; var. parviflora Craib occurs in India and Sri Lanka.
