Herbs, annual. Stems terete. Leaves opposite; stipular glands absent; blade margins entire, not glandular-toothed. Flowers homostylous; sepals persistent, margins scarious, at least inner glandular-toothed; petals white; staminodia present; styles distinct; stigmas capitate. Capsules dehiscing into 10, 1-seeded segments; false septa incomplete. Pollen tricolpate.
