Leaves 3–13 × 1–2.8 cm; blade bright green, elliptic to lanceolate. Scape 4–7 dm. Flowers: perianth white to creamy white, sometimes tipped with orange or pinkish orange, campanulate or obovoid, 7–11 mm, lobes turned slightly inward (see note under 4. Aletris lutea). Fruits: beaks abruptly narrowed distally. 2n = 26.


Phenology: Flowering late spring–mid summer.
Habitat: Moist pine flatwoods and savannas, roadside ditches
Elevation: 0–100 m
