Leaves canescent. Corollas 10–12 mm, glabrescent.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Sagebrush steppes, juniper-pinyon woodlands.
Elevation: 1900–3200 m.

Discussion

Variety rothrockii is known from the southern high Sierra Nevada into adjacent southwestern Great Basin ranges of central California and the Transverse Ranges of southern California.
