Discussion
The report of var. oblongifolia for Arizona in T. H. Kearney and R. H. Peebles (1951) was neglected by D. Isely (1981); this record is confirmed by collections from Apache, Cochise (Huachuca Mountains), and Maricopa (Superstition Mountains) counties. In Oregon, var. oblongifolia is encountered mostly south of Lane County in the Cascade Range and, in the coastal ranges, south of Douglas and Coos counties. It is found throughout much of California except in the Central Valley, the Sonoran Desert, and the Modoc Plateau. In Nevada, it is restricted to the Sierra Nevada.
