Plants 10–25 cm. Leaves 2.5–6.5 cm; leaflets comparatively crowded, (9–)13–21, blade surfaces glabrous or glabrate adaxially.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jul.
Habitat: Stony pastures, gravelly clay banks, on basaltic bedrock.
Elevation: 300–1200 m.

Discussion

Variety misellus is restricted to the upper forks of the Deschutes and John Day rivers in central Oregon.
