Plants 20–50 cm, glabrous or hairy, not copiously villous-ciliate, hairs less than 0.5 mm.
Phenology: Fruiting summer–fall.
Habitat: Dry to mostly wet pinelands, savannas, mesic woods, meadows, bogs, and prairies
Elevation: 0–600 m
