Stems usually erect. Leaves: blade linear to narrowly elliptic or narrowly oblanceolate, margins sparsely serrulate. 2n = 14.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jun.
Habitat: Open, sandy flats, desert scrub, non-coastal grasslands.
Elevation: 0–2000 m.

Discussion

Subspecies campestris is known from central and southern California; it sometimes occurs sympatrically with the hexaploid Camissonia contorta, forming usually sterile hybrids.
