Reports from the Southern Sierra Nevada Foothills in Kern County and the Sacramento Valley in Tehama County are not confirmed.</p><!--
--><p>Clarkia similis is a tetraploid species derived through polyploidization following hybridization between C. epilobioides and C. modesta.</p>
