Leaves without prominent 1-directional orientation; blades 20–40 × 2–4 mm, apices mostly obtuse to rounded, faces sparsely to moderately strigose. Phyllaries 0.8–1 mm wide, margins usually broadly scarious, midnerves prominent, raised, orange-resinous, abaxial faces moderately to densely strigoso-hirsute, densely, prominently glandular; inner phyllaries (4–)5–6 mm. Ray florets 28–48; corollas 7–10 mm. Disc corollas 4.5–5 mm.


Phenology: Flowering May–Oct.
Habitat: Grassy dunes, chaparral, oak woodlands
Elevation: 0–800 m
