Thyrses: peduncles and pedicels glabrous. Flowers: calyx lobes glabrous. 2n = 16.


Phenology: Flowering Feb–Jun, Oct–Nov.
Habitat: Rocky or gravelly slopes, washes, pine-oak woodlands.
Elevation: 600–2300 m.

Discussion

Variety connatifolius is known from northwestern Arizona (Cochise, Coconino, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, and Pima counties) and southwestern New Mexico (Catron, Doña Ana, Grant, Hidalgo, and Luna counties).
