Andira inermis subsp. inermis
Trees to 35 m. Leaves: stipules caducous, linear-subulate, 2–3 mm; leaflets: stipels caducous, subulate, blades elliptic to oblong, 35–135 × 14–60 mm, base rounded or subacute, cuneate, apex acute to acuminate. Racemes: axis brown-tomentose; bracts lanceolate, 4–5 × 1 mm; bracteoles setaceous or subulate, 1 mm. Pedicels 0.2–1 mm. Flowers: calyx slightly zygomorphic, 3–4 mm, tomentose, lobes deltate, 0.3–0.7 mm; corolla 10 mm, banner glabrous, keel petals distinct; style incurved, relatively short; stigma capitate, relatively small. Legumes 25–40 × 20–25 mm. 2n = 20.
Phenology: Flowering summer.
Habitat: Disturbed areas.

Discussion
Subspecies inermis was collected as living plants on Bahia Honda Key, and transplanted to Buena Vista, where they were grown in cultivation (J. K. Small 1933; R. W. Long and O. Lakela 1971).
