Leaves 1–3 cm; leaflets (4 or)5–7(or 8) pairs. Flowers: petals to 5–7 mm; anthers to 2.5–4 mm; ovary loosely hairy. Legumes 14–32 × 3–5 mm.


Phenology: Flowering year-round.
Habitat: Savan­­nas, campos, roadsides, waste places.
Elevation: 10–1600 m.

Discussion

Variety serpens, an uncommon plant, is found in central peninsular Florida in Highland, Hillsborough, Lake, and Polk counties.
