Stems with a few, scattered hairs. Leaves: petiole 12–30 mm, sparsely uncinate-puberulent; terminal leaflet blade ovate, ovate-rhombic, or suborbiculate, 15–25(–40) × 10–17 mm, apex obtuse. Pedicels (6–)8–19 mm.


Phenology: Flowering summer–fall.
Habitat: Dry, open or regrowth woodland and borders, old fields, roadsides.
Elevation: 0–1000 m.

Variety marilandicum was last documented in Ontario in 1903 and is now considered extirpated.
