Herbs 15–30 cm; not rhizo­matous; roots thickened, often fusiform. Inflorescences 15–40-flowered, subglobose, 1–2 cm diam. Pedicels erect or proxi­malmost horizontal or slightly reflexed in fruit, stout, to 1 mm. Flowers 10–12 mm; calyx sparsely hairy or glabrous; corolla white, banner and wing apices slender-acuminate. 2n = 16.


Phenology: Flowering May–Aug.
Habitat: Boggy meadows.
Elevation: 1000–2000 m.

Discussion

Subspecies longipes occurs in west-central Oregon and central Washington.
