Herbs decumbent to ascending, densely hairy; stems from thick­ened woody taproots, rhizomes absent. Leaflet blades oblance­olate or elliptic, margins serrate or setose, apex acute. Peduncles bent upwards at steep angle distally. Inflorescences 1–7-flowered.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Sep.
Habitat: Wet meadows, stream banks, marshes, snowbelt areas.
Elevation: 1600–3300 m.

Discussion

Subspecies tenerum is known from the Sierra Nevada.
