Stipules 0.5–1 cm. Leaflet blades thin. Peduncles slender or slightly thickened. Inflores­cences globose or ovoid, 2.1–2.9 cm. Involucres: bracteoles rela­tively large, acute. Flowers 14–22 mm. 2n = 16.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Alpine tundra, meadows, grassy slopes, open areas of forests.
Elevation: 2700–4100 m.

Discussion

Subspecies parryi is widespread in Colorado; in Wyoming, it is known from Albany and Carbon counties; in New Mexico, it is known only from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
